When Honey Cone burst onto the scene under the legendary Hot Wax label, Shelly’s powerful vocals and confident stage presence became an essential part of their success. The group made history as the first act signed to the Holland-Dozier-Holland label, and their success opened doors for countless female groups in R&B.

After Honey Cone disbanded, Shelly continued performing, appearing on stage and television, and lending her soulful voice to a range of projects.
