This week’s Rules Free Radio with Steve Caplan is a One-year Flashback Encore to October 2023. At the top of the second hour, we’ll do a tribute to the late Power Pop singer-songwriter, Dwight Twilley. He passed away on October 18th. Although he didn’t attain the popularity of a lot of other Power Pop artists, his music was generally praised by critics, and appreciated by other musicians, and he’s a top-tier artist for most serious Power Pop fans.

In the third hour, we’ll pay tribute to Carla Bley. She was a composer and performer with a career spanning over 50 years. She was an important figure in the Free Jazz movement in the 1960s, and a stalwart artist for the ECM record label. She collaborated across genres from Jazz to Rock. We’ll hear a little sample of her diverse work.
