Rules Free Radio June 24

On this week’s Rules Free Radio with Steve Caplan, in the first two hours we’ll hear some new and recent releases by Triptides, The Grip Weeds, Brian Bilston and The Catenary Wires, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Liana Flores, Jahnah Camille, Van Morrison, Molly Tuttle, Witch, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Iron and Wine with I’m With Her, American Mile, Brian Eno with Beatie Wolfe, and others. The third hour is gonna be a lot of fun as we revisit Top 40 AM radio of the ’60s inspired by the passing of singer-songwriter, Lou Christie. He’s known for his one big hit, “Lightning Strikes,” but after a deeper dive into his life and career, I learned that there was a lot more going on. We’ll play a few of his tunes along with a lot of related music from the era. There will be plenty of songs you know and may not have heard in a while.
