This week’s Rules Free Radio with Steve Caplan, we’ll start and end with a few tunes about the heat and summer. There’s new and recent music by Hotline TNT, a debut from Toronto’s Beta Trip, Daily Toll, Tropical F Storm, Tune-Yards, Secret Monkey Weekend, a new Rolling Stones tribute to Zydeco King Clifton Chenier, Gogo Penguin, and Amina Claudine Myers.

Classics and in-betweens include The Who, Janis Joplin, Oranjuly, White Fence, The Junipers, Lovin’ Spoonful, Pylon, Translator, Karla Bonoff, Chet Baker, June Christy, Dave Holland, John Martyn, and others.

In the second hour, we’ll do a tribute to the late Mick Ralphs. He was an English guitarist and songwriter, and a key member of Mott The Hoople and Bad Company. He wrote a number of songs that were staples of FM album-oriented Rock radio in the 70s, and we’ll revisit some of those and a few others you might not know about.
