Throwing Muses are set to reissue their long out of print 1986 debut album.
Marking the 40th anniversary of its release, the legendary Rhode Island outfit will release a remastered version of the album on CD as well as standard black and limited Oxblood vinyl. Additionally, it will be made available for the first time on streaming platforms.
Limited edition T-shirts will be able to be pre-ordered with the purchase of the album through both Bandcamp and 4AD directly.
Helmed by Gil Norton (Pixies, Echo and the Bunnymen), the album was released on 4AD, which was also home to Bauhaus and the Cocteau Twins. Featuring numbers like “Call Me,” “Hate My Way” and “Delicate Cutters,” the personnel for the album featured Kristin Hersh, Tanya Donelly, bassist Leslie Langston and drummer David Narcizo.
A riveting, open wound of a record, the band’s debut is considered essential listening and was included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
4AD will release Throwing Muses on December 11th.
