Chris White, former saxophonist of Dire Straits, co-founded The Dire Straits Experience, a band dedicated to keeping the legacy of Dire Straits alive. White originally joined Dire Straits in 1985, adding his soulful saxophone to the band’s legendary Brothers in Arms album and world tour, where his standout solo on “Your Latest Trick” became iconic. He continued with the band through their final studio album, On Every Street, before Dire Straits disbanded in 1995. In response to the continued demand for live performances of Dire Straits’ music, White formed The Dire Straits Experience, bringing together a group of world-class musicians to faithfully recreate the band’s timeless hits. The band’s performances include classics like “Sultans of Swing,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “Money for Nothing,” giving fans a chance to relive the legendary sound of Dire Straits.
Today Chris leads a band called The Dire Straits Experience, which he co-founded to keep the spirit of Dire Straits’ music alive. After Dire Straits disbanded, there remained a huge fanbase longing to hear the band’s iconic hits performed live. The Dire Straits Experience brings together world-class musicians to perform classic Dire Straits songs, offering fans a chance to experience the music live once again. The band includes Chris White on saxophone, along with a lineup of talented musicians who respect and faithfully recreate the sound and spirit of Dire Straits. Their performances often feature beloved hits like “Sultans of Swing,” “Romeo and Juliet,” “Money for Nothing,” and, of course, “Your Latest Trick.” The band tours globally, celebrating the legacy of one of rock’s most enduring groups.
