Burton Cummings, renowned as the frontman for The Guess Who, is a cornerstone of rock history.

He joined the band in 1965, helping to shape their signature sound with his powerful vocals and keyboard skills.

Cummings’ voice drove iconic hits like “American Woman,” “These Eyes,” and “No Time,” solidifying The Guess Who’s place in rock history.

His songwriting, marked by its lyrical depth and melodic richness, was instrumental in the band’s success.

In 1975, Cummings left The Guess Who to pursue a solo career, seeking greater creative freedom.

As a solo artist, he continued to achieve success with hits such as “Stand Tall” and “Break It to Them Gently,” further establishing his reputation as a versatile musician.

Cummings’ work has earned him numerous awards, including induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

His influence on rock and pop music, particularly in Canada, is undeniable, and his legacy continues to resonate with new generations of musicians and fans.

He’s also a writer whose two books of poetry are capturing the imagination of millions around the world.

Burton joins us this week to share his story.
