SATURDAY ON BOMBSHELL RADIO 📻

We’re bringing a little WKRP in Cincinnati spirit to Bombshell Radio this Saturday. Premiering in 1978, WKRP turned the everyday chaos of a radio station into one of television’s great workplace comedies, with Johnny Fever, Venus Flytrap, Bailey Quarters, Jennifer Marlowe, Les Nessman and the rest of the wonderfully dysfunctional crew.

9 AM — 8 Days This Week
Start Saturday with music history, stories and plenty of records worth revisiting.

10 AM — From Memphis to Merseyside
Tracing the musical connections between American roots, rock ’n’ roll and the sounds that crossed the Atlantic and helped ignite the British music explosion.

12 PM — The Unheard Music
Digging beyond the obvious for great music that deserves a little more attention.

1 PM — Oldies for an Oldie
A wide-ranging trip through classic pop and rock from across the decades.

2 PM — Gord’s Golden Album: Dire Straits — Brothers in Arms
Released in 1985, Brothers in Arms became one of the defining albums of the decade, featuring “Money for Nothing,” “Walk of Life,” “So Far Away” and the haunting title track. It was also a landmark release during the rise of the compact disc and became one of the biggest-selling British albums of all time.

3 PM — Addictions & Other Vices: Fix Mix + Colour Me Friday
Two shows back-to-back featuring new discoveries and tracks sent directly to Bombshell Radio by artists, labels and PR companies around the world.

9 PM — The Tomocorry Show with Tomoko Taguchi
Broadcast from Japan, Tomoko brings us a wonderfully distinctive mix of classic anime tunes, Japanese music, culture and stories. A Saturday night connection between Bombshell Radio and Japan.

And because no Saturday inspired by WKRP would be complete without Mr. Carlson’s immortal words…

“As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.” 🦃📻
