Episode 638: The UNHEARD Music No. 638

Mondays 4pm EST bombshellradio.com

THIS WEEK:
Hour one opens with Fugazi and focuses on the release of In on the Kill Taker in 1993, including its recording at Inner Ear Studios with Ted Niceley and Don Zientara and its place as the band’s first album to enter the Billboard chart. We have a retrospect on Refused and their 2015 return album Freedom, released through Epitaph after a long hiatus following The Shape of Punk to Come. We explore the band’s reformation, lineup changes, and continued activity into later releases.

The Interrupters’ Fight the Good Fight from 2018 is featured, produced by Tim Armstrong and tied to the band’s breakout single “She’s Kerosene,” which brought wider chart attention.

We have a long look at the history of the band known as DEATH, the first all black punk rock band… and possibly the first punk band ever and how decades later their long lost record was discovered by their sons and a band was born out of tribute.

There are tributes this week to Poly Styrene, Johnny Whitney of The Blood Brothers, and Rick Froberg of Drive Like Jehu and Hot Snakes. And we hav some new releases and current punk-adjacent artists including Yard Act, PUP, and Golomb

all this and more, this week on lost in the static.
