On this week’s Rules Free Radio with Steve Caplan, it’s a three-hour tribute to the late legendary guitarist, Jeff Beck. He was quite prolific and played with an astounding assortment of musicians and artists as a member of bands like The Yardbirds, The Jeff Beck Group, Beck, Bogert, and Appice, and as a sideman, and guest artist.

Although he is a revered guitar God to many, especially guitarists, plenty of folks know his name, and maybe knew that he was one of the three legendary guitarists in The Yardbirds, but he didn’t really achieve the same solo artist status of say Eric Clapton who went on to have so many commercial hits. Also, Jeff Beck wasn’t a member of a band as popular as Led Zeppelin with Jimmy Page, the third legendary guitarist in The Yardbirds.

However, he collaborated with so many different people it is only fitting to explore the work of this esteemed musician. So, the entire show will be an exploration of the career of Jeff Beck. People who are familiar with him will hear some classics and perhaps songs they didn’t know he played on, and those who aren’t all that familiar with him will hear some of the breadth of his work, his distinctive tone and his style even though he played in diverse musical settings. Hopefully, you’ll discover some new music from this fine guitarist.
